Who We Are
Home Equity Insider (the "site") is owned and operated by AdvisorClicks, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information we handle when you use the site, and how.
What You Enter in Our Calculators
Our calculators ask for details about your scenario, such as your state, home value, mortgage balance, credit score, the amount you want, and (on the reverse mortgage calculator) the youngest spouse's age. To calculate your results, these details are sent to our server, used to compute the estimate, and returned to your browser.
We don't store these details, we don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or address, and we don't link what you enter to you. We don't sell this information.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting. Our hosting provider, Netlify, automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, to deliver and secure the site.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited, which links are clicked (including which provider links), the type of device and browser used, and approximate location (city or region). Google Analytics uses cookies and processes this information under Google's own privacy policy. It doesn't receive anything you enter in our calculators. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
Links to Providers and Other Sites
When you click a link to a provider, we add a short tag that tells the provider the visit came from our site and which page you came from. It doesn't include your name, contact details, or anything you entered in our calculators. Cookies
The site itself doesn't set cookies, but Google Analytics does, to recognize repeat visits and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on linked above; the site will still work.
How We Share Information
We don't sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting and analytics), when required by law or to protect our rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business or the site.
Children
The site is intended for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information about you. Because we don't ask for or store information that identifies you, we usually won't hold any, but you can contact us with any request and we'll respond as required by applicable law. Our site doesn't respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no common standard for them.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the site and the information it handles, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last changed.
